AUTUMN SKIN RITUAL

This anxiety-reducing ritual is designed to support you through transitions, assist you in healing
trauma, and give you an overall sense of inner peace.

After or while soaking in a relaxing bath with a tub tea of calendula, lemon balm, rosemary and rose + a few drops of lavender essential oil, use an herbal oil made of the same plants to gently massage your face with your finger tips. As you do this, take deep breaths, exhaling with a “ha” sound as you embrace transitions you are experiencing, even if it’s just the transition of moving into less and less daylight.

How to make the herbal oil:

SUPPLIES

Calendula

Rose

Rosemary

Lemon balm

2 16 oz mason jars

Chopstick

Coffee filter and rubber band

Fine mesh strainer

Cheese cloth

INSTRUCTIONS

• Fill a mason jar 1⁄3 or all the way with slightly crushed, equal parts of: lemon balm, calendula, rose, and rosemary. Sing as you add herbs and press them down with a stick.
• Next, fill the mason jar the rest of the way with the plant-based oil of your choosing. When choosing an oil, keep in mind sustainability and ethical production. If there is an oil of some kind that is somehow related to your ancestral lineage, I highly recommend using it if it is sustainable. The energy of oil is very nourishing and grounding, just like doing that ancestral healing is.
• Sing as you pour and use a stick to press out any bubbles that form.
• Place both hands on your medicine jar and focus your intention on healing. Ask the plants to help you with anything you are specifically looking to heal.
• Place a coffee filter and rubber band over the top.
• Create a label to stick to the jar. On the label, write all herbs included, what liquid has been used, what the moon phase is, and anything of note that’s happening with the planets. You can also add the intention or song you infused into your medicine.
• Set aside and let sit for at least six weeks in a cool, DRY and dark place.
• Decant when ready to use.
